Ringtailed Lemur Twins!!
Ringtailed Lemur parents Edwina & Ringo have produced their 6th set of twins; Kevin & Lionel. The boys were born on Sunday 5th April 2009 and have settled in beautifully.
They become the 11th and 12th offspring from our happy couple and following tradition have been named alphabetically. The full list is; Alfie, Bob, Clarence, Doris, Eric, Franka, Gertrude, Henry, Isaac, Jane, Kevin & Lionel.
Not all of them are still with us as their breeding is carefully overseen by the EAZA EEP breeding scheme which ensures good breeding practice and maintains the levels of species to protect them.
Lemurs are only found in the wild on the Island of Madagascar and EAZA ran a fundraising and awareness campaign for the island to which Friends of Paradise Wildlife Park donated €21,665 in 2007.
