Fox
Red foxes are native to the UK, however our foxes were injured as cubs and after receiving veterinary treatment were too used to people for them to be safely released, which is why they live here at Paradise Wildlife Park. Red foxes are very vocal animals and can produce 28 different vocal calls. Like a cat's, the fox's thick tail aids its balance, but it has other uses as well. A fox uses its tail as a warm cover in cold weather and as a signal flag to communicate with other foxes. In the wild red foxes only have a lifespan of 2-4 years, in captivity they live much longer, with our previous fox , “Fred” reaching the grand old age of 10.
