We provide two presentations in the Discovery Centre classroom for this age group both of which explore the differences between animals and how they have adapted to survive.
These can both be incorporated into your own classroom based key stage 1 topics and provide the opportunity to enhance creative writing, mathematical skills and art based lessons once back at school. They both last for approximately 30 minutes and include a short DVD presentation with activity worksheets.
The emphasise of these sessions is on fun and discovery which we feel helps the children to retain the knowledge they learn.
Food Chain

"All the 'vores!"
Carnivore, Herbivore, Omnivore are all very long words when you are 6 years old; at Paradise we encourage the children to look at a variety of animals to see what and how they eat.
We discover why some animals eat meat, some eat plants and some animals, like some humans, will eat anything!
Camouflage
"Now you see us, now you don’t"

During this interactive session children will have the opportunity to look at different animal coats, colours and patterns.
We will explore why certain animals are the colours they are and how they use their patterns to help them survive.
Please note that there is no involvement with live animals during these talks.
