Wolf Awareness Week Poem Winners.

Winner – Under 8’s

Wolves are hairy

I think they are scary

They run fast on 4 feet

And they love to eat meat

They growl and howl

And stare at the moon

We want to come and see them again soon.

Winner – Aged 8 – 11

The sly, secretive wolf scoured the open surface

Stalking its lost prey

Hiding in the rich foliage, the wolf got closer and closer

Then bang the wolf pounced

The animals life ended

A satisfied wolf dragged the carcass back into the dense forest

Two wolf sisters were born in Kent

And to Paradise Wildlife Park they went

Tatra’s the smallest but loves being fussed

Getting all the attention is a must!

Misha is recognized by her really long legs

Unlike the other who has an enormous head

Wild and beautiful to the eye

Yet our nature is so sly

We live in packs

And hunt our prey

Stay together and never stray

Howl cries the wolf from a mountain

Howl cried tiagou from the fountain

Poachers are near I can smell them from here

I am trembling with fear

Don’t cut our skin

Cried a voice from within

Don’t stuff us with wool

No not at all

We are safe in the zoo
