Why a speedway museum in a wildlife park?

The answer is simple; Peter Sampson. The owner of Paradise Wildlife Park, he was an accomplished speedway rider in the 1960s. He rode for teams such as Rayleigh, Hackney, Rye House, Swindon and Newcastle.

So, when the idea of creating a Speedway Museum was suggested, Peter swiftly offered it a home at Paradise.

Our aim is to create interest for both speedway supporters and riders and also to visitors of Paradise Wildlife Park; who may never have had the opportunity to experience the unique noise, smell, speed and sheer excitement of the sport.

Whether you are a die hard supporter or new to the sport, there are hundreds of exhibitsand memorabilia to keep you interested.

And at the end of your visit why not take home a souvenir from the museum shop?
