Blue-Tongued Skink

When threatened, the skink gapes its mouth and hisses in defence, swelling its body to look more impressive.

Being viviparous, they give birth to live young so there are no eggs. Lizards skin shows signs of evolution where snakes evolved from lizards. This is shown by the snake like head and scales however it still has small legs.

DID YOU KNOW? Their tongue is blue to trick insects into coming over to them by thinking it is food.
