Blue Tongue Skink

When threatened, the skink gapes its mouth and hisses in defence, swelling its body to look more impressive.


Skinks in general show classic signs of where snakes evolved from lizards, this is shown by the snake-like head and scales, however they have small legs where they have started to evolve between the two.
