Emperor Scorpion

Emperor scorpions can reach sizes of up to 8 inches and are renowned for being a dark shiny black colour.

However, like all scorpions they shine a white-greenish colour under a UV light. The Emperor Scorpion is venomous but can’t actually kill humans! In fact, only around 25 types of scorpions can and you can spot these species as they have very small claws.

Scorpions with large pincers have small tails whereas scorpions with large, fat tails will have small pincers. The smaller pincers and fatter the tail, the more venomous the scorpion.

DID YOU KNOW? The only place on earth you don’t find scorpions is Antarctica and they have been living on earth for 430 million years.
