African Grey Parrot

The African grey is one of the largest parrots in Africa. Two subspecies of the African grey parrot were previously recognised: the Congo African grey parrot, and the Timneh African grey parrot. However, the Timneh is now believed to be a separate species.

DID YOU KNOW? The African grey is considered to be one of the most accomplished mimics. Parrots, when raised by humans, show an amazing ability to mimic people and noisy objects, but in the wild they have never been observed mimicking.
