Carnotaurus pronounced Kar-no-tore-us
Means: meat-eating bull
Period: Middle Cretaceous - 66 million years ago
Where: Patagonia, Chubut Province, Argentina, South America
Carnotaurus is thought to have behaved very similarly to bulls today. They both have horns on their heads and a thick muscly neck, used for ramming into other animals.
Estimates suggest that the Carnotaurus was around 8 metres in length and weighed up to 2.5 tonnes.
