Stegosaurus pronounced Steg-owe-sore-us

Period: Late Jurassic - 150 million years ago
Where: Western North America and Europe (Portugal)
A Stegosaurus’ tail is called a “thagomizer”.
Each of its bony tail spikes could grow up to 1.5 metres (bigger than some of you!).
On average, a fully grown Stegosaurus was around 9 metres in length, 4 metres in height and up to nearly 5 tonnes in weight.
