It was amazing to see The Big Cat Sanctuary’s Director of Conservation and Big Cats, Giles Clark on our screens last night on BBC TWO.
Matt Hunt from Free the Bears welcomed Giles to his amazing charity but also to his room mate: adorable sun bear cub Mary. We got to see Giles raise Mary from the undernourished frightened bear cub to the mischievous and healthy toddler you now see.
Although it was remarkable to see the good work Free the Bears do for bears who are taken in by the sanctuary, some are not so lucky. We caught a glimpse into the atrocities of the bear bile farming industry, the terrible reality for many of Asia’s bears.
Free the Bears, Giles and Matt are working with the government to put these farms to an end and place captured bears into Free the Bears’ amazing sanctuary.
