Goodbye Edwina

Thu 11th November

Queen of the Ring-tails

It comes with great sadness that Paradise Wildlife Park must announce the passing of Edwina the ring-tailed Lemur.

Edwina arrived at Paradise in 2001 and has been a part of our family for over 20 years. She was a fantastic mum to her children; five of which still call Paradise home. Even though she was very small in size, she still had a very big personality.

Generally, she was a very laid-back character who loved to soak up the sun rays and chose to stay out of family arguments. She was nearly 24 years old but acted like a young lemur when keepers came into her habitat with freshly cut browse. She stepped back from being in charge of the group at the start of 2021 but the others still knew to never mess with mum. She loved nothing more than hot summer days, sweet potato, and freshly cut willow.

Edwina will be greatly missed by the entire team at Paradise Wildlife Park and all that met her. We hope that everyone who got to meet her fell in love with her as much as we all did. Edwina will remain in the hearts of all the team and guests of the Park.

Edwina – forever Queen of the Ring-tails
