Visit from Uganda

Thu 29th August

Paradise were delighted to invite the team from UWEC

On Tuesday 27th August, Paradise Wildlife Park (PWP) & the Zoological Society of Hertfordshire (ZSH) were delighted to welcome the team from the Ugandan Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC) to visit the site for the first time in 8 years.

The team from UWEC were on an educational visit to the park, to research our animal welfare, training and facilities to see what they could learn and take back with them to implement at UWEC.

A key reason for their visit to Paradise was to see the anti-poaching & animal rescue vehicle that Drive4Wildlife have been fundraising for that will be sent to Uganda to support their ongoing efforts in protecting wildlife in the national parks. James Musinguzi, Director of UWEC was delighted to see the progress and was truly grateful of the support from PWP, ZSH & the Big Cat Sanctuary.

The vehicle will be sent out to Uganda in January as part of our Drive4Wildlife project.

The Drive4Wildlife team completed an epic adventure around East Africa! Covering 4500km in under 4 weeks, the team of 4 have explored 4 East African countries and donated funds and equipment to several projects along the way, including the African Wildlife Foundation (Manyara Ranch Conservancy, Canines For Conservation, Gorilla Guardians), Ugandan Wildlife Education Centre, Ol Pejeta & more.

However, we still need your support to help raise £35,000 for an anti-poaching vehicle to be sent out to support UWEC & Ugandan National Parks!

£25,000 will cover the cost of the vehicle, the remaining £10,000 will cover shipping costs, modifications, medical supplies & fees. Any remaining funds raised will be donated to worthy conservation charities as both monetary and physical supplies.

If you would like to support the project please visit the Drive4Wildlife Just Giving page:
