Reception & Foundation Onsite Zoo Visits
If you're looking for a fun and educational school trip for your pupils, look no further! Our zoo is home to a whole range of animals including Penguins, Meerkats, Zebras, Wolves and all 5 species of Big Cats - Guaranteed to encourage your pupils to get involved and learn. Let them fully utilise all of their senses by getting hands-on in a truly unique and educational experience at the zoo.
What Will Be Included In Your School Trip To The Zoo?
We aim to deliver interactive educational experiences using resources such as live animals, biofacts and multimedia all linking to the National Curriculum. We offer a fun presentation for preschool children and special need groups aged between 2-4 years with a maximum group limit of no more than 30.
You'll also receive a 'show and tell' session where your class will get to see a few of our animal friends. Meeting a variety of our smaller animals and discover the difference between fur, feather and scale.

Your presenter will take you through understanding all about what animals eat, including whether animals are herbi-, carni-, or omni-vores and how animal diets link up into food chains!
Take a look at animal coats, colours and patterns! We will explore why animals use camouflage and how it helps them to survive.

Ever wondered what makes a mammal a mammal? Or a bird a bird? Take your chance to get hands on with some animal artefacts and discover what makes these skin coverings so successful
Helping Habitats – 2018 EXCLUSIVE!
Learn about the big wide world of zoological fundraising and campaign work through an introduction to the main conservation focus of 2018 – helping habitats.
Discover the world through an interactive session of habitats and where they are found in the world. Then help us to put the animals back in their rightful homes. You’ll also learn what is threatening these habitats and how we can help to save them.
Get a little closer to some of our smaller animals, learn what it is that makes each of them unique and how they survive in their habitats. Your presenter will cover all topics from diets and reproduction, to predators and adaptations
